Regarding the previous post…

December 27, 2007 at 12:03 am (Ego, Love and Acceptance)

In the midst of this flu and throat inflammation, I wanted to share something with you guys.

Now I was reading my previous post and realized how easy it is for someone to read it and go “Yay I’m spiritual/more enlightened therefore I’m different from that guy over there and therefore I own him”. That’s just more Ego.

When I say enlightened, I mean to wake up from the illusion of seperation. Ultimately, our True Nature is the same One thing. What differentiates us is how we choose to spend our time. Someone who spends his time primarily on soccer is going to be better at it than me. And there really isn’t a more worthy cause or a less worthy cause. When I say “everything happens for a reason”, it also means “everything that has ever happened and that will ever happen is appropriate for that moment, so are the lessons that they bring”.

Just for the fun of it, go out and hold the frame that you are not seperate from the people or things that you see. Look at everyone and everything and say to yourself in your head “I am that.” I’m sure you’ll have some interesting experiences just from one day of doing it.

HOHOHO Merry Christmas! (and something to note)

December 25, 2007 at 4:39 pm (Ego, Meditation)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This is a season where most people use more things than ever to distract themselves from their True Nature. Some examples would be gatherings, going to church(!), and going out to get presents for others. However, few actually give themselves the one present that really matters – going inside.

It has come to a point for me where I know that anything I do before I become enlightened would contain a certain extent of the ego trying to control. That said, I understand that most people aren’t on this path, and that’s perfectly fine. Awakening is inevitable, no one can stay asleep forever. It might take a mightily long time (countless lifetimes) but eventually the True Nature will wake up to see itself.

I guess like Adyashanti pointed out, it requires a strong fidelity to Truth for a person to really awaken. There are so many distractions one can get into at any moment that will deviate him from the Truth. Be it money or girls or fame or whatever. The content does not matter.

But I can see most people don’t have that fidelity to the Truth. In fact, they, or rather their Egos, would rather stay in the world of illusions because that is where they feel safe. This is where they can continue their “me and my story”. And that is fine too. Everything happens for a reason.

I simply await the day where everyone has awakened.

Saw this amazing link, thought I would share it just for laughs.

PS. It’s actually quite sad that I know some uptight people who won’t click that link just because it contains the word ‘porn’ in it.

Non-Living on Borrowed Knowledge

December 11, 2007 at 11:16 am (Personal)

Ah… bloody long since I last posted. Mind you, I’m talking about clock time, not psychological time.

For today, let’s talked about borrowed knowledge. By borrowed knowledge I mean the supposed “words of wisdom” of others. Why am I against something that so many people swear upon?

“The simpleton learns from his own mistakes, the genius learn from other’s mistakes.”

The reason is simple… if one lives his life primarily on borrowed knowledge, he is not exactly living his own life, he is living in others’ shadows. Of course there are some borrowed knowledge that are beneficial to believe in. One of them would be “John! Don’t ever stick your hand into the fire!”

That said, most other borrowed knowledge are more harmful than they are beneficial. It takes out the experiential part of Life and automize people (hence unconsciousness).

So I say, question your own unquestioned assumptions. Experience Life for yourself! Feel the flow that it was meant to be! Whether you believe in the eternal Me that can never die (ie. reincarnation) or not, LIVE FREE.
